Restaurant Reviewer + Local Food Reporter

I served as The Des Moines Register's chief food critic from 1997 to 2012, and wrote over 750 reviews for this paper. These days, I occasionally write on the local dining scene for dsm Magazine, a lifestyle magazine in Des Moines. I also have a very active Facebook page, All Things Food DSM-Wini Moranville, which keeps track of culinary items of interest on the local food scene

Cookbook Author

My cookbooks include:

• Everyday French Cooking: Modern French Cuisine Made Simple (Harvard Common Press, 2022).

• The Little Women Cookbook: Tempting Recipes from the March Sisters and Their Friends and Family. This book won a Goodreads Choice Award in the category of Best Food/Cookbooks, 2019.
